Air Force: 48 enemy UAVs, two guided aircraft missiles shot down at night
Last night, units of the Defense Forces shot down 48 of 79 drones that attacked the territory of Ukraine, 30 of which were locally lost in different regions of the country, the press service of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
"On the night of November 5, 2024 [from 20:00 on November 4], the enemy launched two X-59/69 guided air missiles from the Black Sea on Odesa region, attacked Kharkiv region with guided air bombs, launched 79 Shahed-type attack UAVs and unidentified drones from Bryansk, Kursk, and Orel - Russian directions," the Ukrainian Air Force said in a Telegram message on Tuesday.
According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as of 08:30, the downing of two X-59/69 guided air missiles and 48 enemy UAVs in Odesa, Kyiv, Sumy, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Chernihiv and Khmelnytsky regions has been confirmed.
It is also indicated that 30 enemy drones were locally lost in different regions of Ukraine, and another one returned to Russia.
It is reported that the air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
