Zelenskyy holds HQ meeting in Sumy region: key issues are protection of infrastructure, energy, work of air defense

During a business trip to Sumy region, the President of Ukraine held a meeting of the Headquarters, the key issue of which is the protection of infrastructure and energy, the work of the air defense.

"Today is Sumy region, work in the region. I held a meeting of the Headquarters here, and the key issue is the protection of our infrastructure, our energy, the work of the air defense," Zelenskyy said in an evening video address on Friday.

The president said the Headquarters also heard "a report from our military – the Air Force, the East Command, as well as a report from the Minister of Energy, there were representatives of state-owned energy companies, heads of the entire vertical between the government and communities. There is a decision to support the region, and there will be separate meetings on the energy sector of Sumy region, our other border regions. Before winter, the most important thing is a reserve of strength," the president said.

The president also spoke about the reports of the head of the State Security Service of Ukraine and law enforcement officers. "The report of Commander-in-Chief Syrsky on the front – this includes Donetsk directions, Kharkiv region, the south of the state, the border region, Kursk region," Zelenskyy said.

Zelenskyy also spoke about his visit to the 82nd brigade: "I visited our soldiers participating in Kursk operation – the 82nd brigade. "It is essential to understand that Kursk operation is a truly strategic thing, something that adds motivation to partners, adds motivation to be with Ukraine, to be more decisive and to put pressure on Russia, to put pressure in a way that can help us end the war fairly," the president said.

In Sumy region, Zelenskyy met with the heads of communities: "I thanked them for being in their region, for being with their people, for really caring and worrying about Sumy region and all of Ukraine."

According to him, the meeting with teachers was especially emotional: this Sunday is Education Workers Day. "I personally thanked them – our teachers, lecturers, heads of educational institutions from Sumy region, Chernihiv region, Kharkiv region, Poltava region, who were here today. And in all of Ukraine, in all regions, absolutely selfless people – they really give hope for the future. When education works, when children, students have the opportunity to study, it means that the country will live, and the children of Ukraine, having become adults, will have a normal life," the head of state said.
