Construction of first stage of National Military Memorial Cemetery underway – ministry
Construction work on the first stage of the National Military Memorial Cemetery has already started, Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Farhad Farhadov said.
"Construction is actively continuing, construction work has started, all permits have been received. As planned, to begin the first burials in the autumn," Farhadov said on the national telethon on Monday.
In turn, the director of SOE National Military Memorial Cemetery Yaroslav Proniutkin said that the first start-up complex of the first stage includes burial fields and access roads, and it should be completed in three months. "The first burials should be started around November. Then we will build an administrative building, utility buildings by the end of 2025," he said.
As reported, in October 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the creation of SOE National Military Memorial Cemetery by the Ministry of Veterans, and in August 2023, it approved the implementation of the National Military Memorial Cemetery project in Hatne community near Kyiv by August 2025.
