Agroliga to double sunflower seed processing in 2012

The Agroliga group of companies in Kharkiv region is to double sunflower seed processing by 2012, to 40,000 tonnes per year.

The company will increase its output due to the installation of new equipment, according to the presentation available to Interfax-Ukraine.

In 2010-2011 the company is to buy and launch the second sunflower oil production line, which will let it annually produce 17,000 tonnes of vegetable oil by the end of 2011, against today's 8,500 tonnes.

Agroliga also plans to increase milk production by 4.7 times to 4,628 tonnes by 2014. Its cow livestock is to expand to 600 head by 2012 and to 1,500 head by 2014.

Its annual turnover by 2014 is expected to amount to EUR 15 million.

Agroliga has been working on the Ukrainian farm produce market since 1992. Its agribusinesses are engaged in grain production, sunflower seeds processing and cow breeding. Agroliga's land bank exceeds 5,500 hectares in Kharkiv region.

The capacity of its sunflower seed processing plant is currently 20,000 tonnes per year.

Agroliga's sales in 2009 totaled EUR 2.7 million, net profit amounted to EUR 500,000. In 2010, the company projects revenues at EUR 6.68 million and net profit at EUR 1.03 million.
