Competition agency by late 2018 to prepare recommendations for medicine distributors, manufacturers regarding contract conditions
The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine plans to draw up recommendations for medicine distributors and manufacturers regarding the conditions of contracts they sign between each other by the end of 2018, the authorized government official at the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, Svitlana Panaiotidi, has said.
"Distributors are beginning to think about the conditions of contracts and their consequences. Now, after our investigations and publications about them [a series of investigations regarding anti-competitive actions], I see that they are changing the situation. Therefore I plan to make joint recommendations to the entire market - both distributors and producers," she said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
According to Panaiotidi, at present the committee is conducting three more investigations on the pharmaceutical market.
"I think we will submit them to the committee by the end of the year, so the recommendations may appear next year. Next year, the situation with the purchase of medicines may seriously change," she said.
As reported, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine expects the signing of a joint order of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Economic Development to approve recommendations on the formation of lots during public procurement of medicines.
