Ukraine has potential for 20-fold goods transit growth, 10-fold river transportation growth

Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman believes that Ukraine can increase tenfold cargo transportation by river and 20-fold growth in transportation of goods across Ukraine with the favorable conditions for transit, to $300 billion.
"We see a large potential of developing river transport. We see a chance of 10-fold rise of cargo transportation," he said at a briefing with Prime Minister of Moldova Pavel Filip in Odesa last week.
The prime minister recalled that Ukraine intends to decrease port dues by 20% from 2018.
Groysman said that the country is working on expansion of goods transportation across Ukraine: this is a large-scale program on development of roads, corporatization of Ukrzaliznytsia, and relaxing access to transportation by air, roads, railways, ferries and water routes.
