Group DF claims right to Ukraine Tomorrow trademark in 27 EU states

Group DF of businessman Dmytro Firtash has announced the completion of the official registration of the Ukraine Tomorrow, Ukraine Morgen and Ukraina Zavtra trademarks, due to which the group had a dispute with Minister of Information Policy Yuriy Stets, in the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM).

"Having received registration certificates for the trademarks, Group DF confirmed its exclusive right to the brand in eight classes under the International Classification of Goods and Services. Registration is valid until 2025 and extends in the territory of all 27 EU member states and Ukraine," reads the report.

The group notes it has been using the Ukraine Tomorrow phrase at public events since 2014, afterwards it decided to apply for the registration of the brand.

As reported, in early 2015 Yuriy Stets announced the creation of the Ukraine Tomorrow broadcasting channel. In August, the minister noted difficulties with the name of the created channel.

"Randomly, after we have been announcing the creation of the Ukraine Tomorrow channel for half a year, Dmytro Firtash Group [Group DF] applied for the right to the Ukraine Tomorrow brand in all languages of the world," Stets said.
