Firtash plans to return to Ukraine in Nov after court ruling

Ukrainian businessman Dmytro Firtash intends to return to Ukraine from Austria, where he has been staying since spring 2014, immediately after he receives a written ruling of the court which has been considered a request of the U.S. Department of Justice for his extradition.

"The matter is that the hearing lasted 13 hours and the procedure of approval of the final text of the decision takes a lot of time. I think in the beginning of November my lawyers will get a court decision. As soon as that happens I'll go home [to Ukraine]," Firtash said.

He said that the Vienna Regional Court for Criminal Cases has returned his foreign passport to him.

"I have a passport, I can travel to Ukraine even today. But the lawyers insist that first I need to obtain a court decision," Firtash said.

Describing his plans after returning to Ukraine, Firtash said "I will go to Kyiv, then to my mother."
