Ukraine's forex reserves $106 m up in Jan, says NBU

Ukraine's forex reserves in January 2013 grew by $106 million or 0.4%, to $24.652 billion, reads a posting on the Web site of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

"As of February 1, 2013, the forex reserves came to $24.652 billion in the [U.S. dollar] equivalent… The reserves grew mainly thanks to sending the funds to the government's accounts from the placement of government domestic loan bonds pegged to the dollar," reads the report, referring to the director of the currency reserve and open transactions department at the NBU, Oleksandr Dubykhvist.
