First EUR 40.7 mln from Denmark's assistance package for Ukrainian production already on Defense Ministry's accounts – Umerov
Defense Minister of Ukraine Rustem Umerov has announced that the first EUR 40.7 million from the aid package from Denmark to Ukrainian production are already in the accounts of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"The first EUR 40.7 million from the aid package from Denmark to Ukrainian production are already in the accounts of the Ministry of Defense. This is an important step for strengthening our defense capability, because Denmark allocated a total of EUR 50 million for the production of 18 modern Ukrainian Bohdana artillery systems," he said on Facebook on Friday.
According to the minister, the example of Denmark is a signal to all partners about the importance of investing in the Ukrainian defense industry.
Umerov expressed gratitude to Denmark for its support and consistency.
In June, the minister said that Ukraine signed a memorandum with Denmark on the purchase of arms and military equipment from Ukrainian manufacturers, adding that the parties were already "at the final stage" and the first contract would be concluded soon.
