2 min read
21 March 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Venue: Small Mariinsky Palace, 22 Hrushevskoho Str., Kyiv The DWK cordially invites you to its next panel discussion "The Ukrainian Tiger – Ukraine to make a great leap ahead?" The economic growth of Ukraine is currently significantly reduced and the 2012 forecasts are at a low level. Despite this, HSBC predicts for Ukraine a bright future in the long run. In its recently published report "The World in 2050", it assumes that Ukraine - irrespective of negative demographic developments - will jump 19 positions ahead, and in the year 2050 will rank 40th in the list of the biggest world economies. Ukraine would then be one of the most dynamic economies in the coming decades. So, is Ukraine a strong tiger getting ready to spring? Is this scenario realistic? What has to be done make this come true? What will be the role of companies acting in Ukraine? How do they create this dynamic? How can they withstand worldwide market turbulence? We would like to discuss these and other questions with our panelists: - Anatoli Kinakh, Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, President of the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (USPP), Chairman of the Ukrainian-German-Forum - Dr. Ricardo Giucci, Managing Director of Berlin Economics GmbH, Head of the German Advisory Group to the Ukrainian Government - Volodymir Fesenko, Head of the Center of Applied Studies "Penta" Moderator: Alex Merle-Katrin, Bank Forum Commerzbank Group, Deputy Chairman of DWK. Event languages: German/Ukrainian/Russian with simultaneous translation Followed by: Buffet Registration per email: [email protected] We would kindly like to ask all those who are interested to transfer a participation fee of UAH 450 no later than 19 March 2012 to the Club's account. The event is free for DWK members (full-payers).
