In October 2023, the Ukrainian market saw the introduction of a new technology - the EcoFlow PowerOcean three-phase energy independence system. Among the brand's products, the new system stands out with its highest power of 10 kW, modularity allowing battery capacity expansion up to 45 kWh, and the durability of LFP batteries with a 15-year warranty. Over two months, users have been evaluating the advantages and capabilities of PowerOcean. Here we share one such case study.

To ensure energy autonomy for a private house of 168 m², the owner installed a three-phase hybrid inverter with a power of 10 kWh along with three LFP batteries, each with a capacity of 5 kWh, and 19 stationary EcoFlow solar panels with a total power of 7 kW. The system was used over two months in the Kyiv region. The average monthly electrical load of the property in winter was 1500 kW, with daily electricity consumption of 40-60 kW.

Here's what the homeowner had to say about their experience with the system: “The 15 kWh PowerOcean system proved optimal for my electricity needs. What influenced my decision was the three-phase inverter, which allows me to use the necessary devices simultaneously. To support and increase the autonomy of my house from the central network, I purchased and installed 19 solar panels on the roof, with a total power of 7 kW. In two months, I used 2400 kW, of which 729 kW were generated by the solar panels. Thus, the combined operation of the system and solar panels provided me with 30% free alternative energy. I believe that from May to October, in clear weather, this number of solar panels will allow generating 5000-6000 kW of electricity, which will meet 100% of my house's needs and allow me to feed the surplus into the grid for sale to energy companies.”

The user also shared that they plan to purchase an electric vehicle, and thus, they intend to buy an additional 8 solar panels: “I will charge my electric car at home. PowerOcean allows me to get 10 kW of electricity from the sun, so by increasing the number of solar panels, I can fully utilize the system’s capabilities. For instance, to fully charge a car with an 85 kWh battery, it would take two days in summer. As a comparison, at a high-speed charging station, I would have to purchase 340 kWh of electricity per month, which would enable me to travel approximately 1500 km over the month.”

The PowerOcean energy independence system is also relevant for small enterprises like mini-bakeries. Thanks to its power capable of energizing industrial equipment, ergonomics, and complete safety, PowerOcean can meet the needs of businesses and provide zoned power supply where it's needed.

The centralized energy system of Ukraine continues to be in a difficult state and requires load reduction. Additionally, the anticipated rise in electricity prices indicates that the need for energy independence systems and "green energy" will grow. For 2024, EcoFlow's exclusive distributor in Ukraine, Robotics Distribution, forecasts a rapid increase in demand for stationary autonomous power systems. This year, the Ukrainian team of installers for branded solutions was fully booked. Therefore, plans include expanding the number of professionals who can expertly install systems like PowerOcean.
