Pharmaceutical plant "Escolit" (JSC Escolit) started its work in the Lithuanian city of Telshai. A group of ukrainian businessmen acted as co-investors of the enterprise, its representatives announced during the opening of the industrial asset.

The plant also received help from the European agency LVPA (Lithuanian Business Support Agency) in the amount of 1.5 million euros under the "Region-invest" program (a program to attract European financing for the creation of innovative industries and jobs in Lithuania).

The opening ceremony of the "Escolit" plant was attended by the mayor of the municipality of Telshai district Tomas Katkus, vice-mayor Almantas Lukavichius, vice-mayor Agni Jakavicius-Miliauskine, director of the municipal administration Sigmas Nevardauskas.

According to the director of the plant Serhiy Panasyuk, the operational team faces the task of turning a profit in 2-3 years.

"Planned production capacity is up to 10 million units of products produced under the Rexsan Pharmaceuticails brand per year," - Roman Yemchuk, production director of Escolit, said.

As the adviser to the director of the plant, Virginia Yasevichienye, reported, the plant officially fulfilled the requirements of the LVPA for the "Region invest" project, taking into account the deadlines for the implementation of the project established by the EU, which received official confirmation from the administrators of European aid.

The first product from the plant's product line was the food supplement "Liposomal Vitamin C" for strengthening human immunity. It is planned that the products will be available in Lithuanian pharmacies in a few weeks.

"The company is equipped with modern technological equipment of Italian production. The company has implemented a quality system in accordance with ISO standards and GMP and EU HACCP norms, and the best pharmacological specialists of the region have joined the work," said Lina Baltokiene, head of the quality control department of the Escolit company.

There is currently a shortage of pharmaceutical specialists in the region, therefore, during the visit to "Escolit", the heads of the municipality familiarized the director of the company with the program of attracting specialists to the development of the regional economy.

"We consider the timely efforts of the Lithuanian regional authorities to implement the program of attracting specialists to the regional economy, because this will stimulate the growth of not only the plant, but also the economy of the region and the whole of Lithuania," one of the investors of the Escolit plant, Ukrainian entrepreneur Gennadii Vykhodtsev, commented on the event. - The fact that the plant started working after 10 years of construction, that investors did not stop investing in starting production, is a good signal: Ukraine is part of the European Union, and Ukrainian investments are ammunition for the protection of European values and for the Victory of Ukraine over the russian invaders".
