Panel discussion: Freedom of Press in Ukraine
The German Economy Club heartily invites you to a panel discussion: "Freedom of Press in Ukraine!?"
20th of September, 2011, Radisson Blu Hotel, Yaroslaviv Val St. 22, Kiev.
Freedom of press and expression are, next to freedom of assembly, the mainstays of any democracy, which must also be protected by the people between election dates. A sigh of relief went through the Ukrainian media after the Orange Revolution. Is there cause for concern again? Is Ukraine following the Russian model of controlled democracy? Does the Ukrainian government influence independent thought, and if so, how? We'll discuss all of these questions in an open-ended format.
