A roundtable entitled "Financing the agricultural sector and investment in agribusiness" will be held during the German-Ukrainian Agricultural Forum, which will take place in Kharkiv on June, 18. Leading professionals from well-known companies will attend, including experts from ProCreditBank – a universal bank, aimed at the development of Ukraine's economy, Commerzbank AG, the company "Agro Concord Ukraine", which provides advice on investing in agriculture sector in Ukraine, and one of the most famous law companies of the country - the ILF. Anton Zinchuk, a senior lawyer at ILF said: "At present the agribusiness is one of the most attractive areas for foreign investment in comparison with various sectors of the Ukrainian economy. Even at the peak of the financial crisis in 2009, Ukrainian companies got more than 12% of global investment. 2011 multiplied the interest of international investors in Ukrainian companies by several times. About 10 Ukrainian agro companies are planning to hold IPOs in 2011. However foreign investors have some concerns about the possibility, effectiveness and security of doing business in Ukraine. During the roundtable, participants will get information on the risks of investing in the Ukrainian agribusiness and opportunities to minimize them, and ways of investing in and realizing the Ukrainian-German investment projects and gaining subsequent control over the investee." Rational business strategy in agriculture, increasing capacity, equality of opportunity for potential investors, the attractiveness of Ukraine and Kharkiv region in terms of investment in agriculture sector - all these and other issues will be discussed at the roundtable during AgroInternational 2011. Also during the forum, the participants will introduce their companies during roundtables and presentations on topics including: "Equipment for planting", "Seeds and seed production", "Manufacturers of agricultural chemistry" and "Equipment for livestock."
