PRESS RELEASE: British Boarding Schools Weekend in Kiev
On the weekend of February 19-20, 2011, the headmasters and headmistresses of thirty British Boarding Schools will travel to Kyiv to meet Ukrainian parents that are interested in providing an academic education in the UK to their children. Entrance to the event will be restricted to a maximum of 250 families seriously considering such education, in order to keep the exclusivity and quality of the fair, which is now in its sixth year.
Time: 1100-1700, February 19, 1200-1700, February 20, 2011.
Venue: Hyatt Regency Kiev hotel, 5 A. Tarasova Street, Kyiv.
Organiser: Business Link educational agency, with the support of the British Embassy and the British Council.
The schools that will be represented include some of the top-ranking and oldest independent schools in the country, such as Berkhamsted, Bromsgrove, St Edmund's (the oldest catholic church in England), Christ College (set up by Royal Charter of Henry the VIII) – and such famous luxurious competitive schools as Millfield.
The programme over the two days will include:
An opening greeting by British Ambassador Mr Leigh Turner, and other distinguished guests;
Seminars on various aspects of boarding and education by schools representatives;
A meeting and presentation by current Ukrainian students of boarding schools in Britain.
Some of the schools have offered very special scholarships of up to 100% to bright Ukrainian children visiting them at the fair.
