AGRO-2011: Evolution of Agrarian Markets

2 min read
As it previously reported by Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) the price of food in the world on December 2010 reached record heights. Previous price records were recorded in 2008, when the growth of prices on food products provoked protests in some countries. What is in store for the world, and Ukraine in particular, in 2011? After the financial crisis, will there be a food crisis? Despite the fact that the world situation is cause for extreme concern, Ukraine has reason for optimism - the country is among the top three in the world in terms of the growth of agricultural production along with Brazil and Russia (according to a report of the UN Secretary-General entitled "Agricultural development and food security"). The report also says that the growth of agricultural production in Ukraine in 2019 will be 29% - if there is support for the agricultural sector from the government. To organize a constructive dialogue between the farming business and the government, a forum called "AGRO-2011: Evolution of the Agrarian Markets" will be conducted in Kyiv on March 24-25, 2010. The aim of the forum is to create a unique platform for professional communication between farming market players and industries that will have an impact on the agriculture sector's development. The forum will also help determine the prospects for Ukraine on the global food market, based on the situation in the country and around the world. The forum's agenda will be based on research into a range of problems, analyses of industry trends, and expert advice on the development of agricultural market segments, which will ensure there is a practical character to the discussion of the issues. The forum's organizers are the Conference House Company - a leader in the Ukrainian market for business events organization, and Agrarica - an information-analytical center for consulting on the farming and food business. Official Partner of the event is International Company Deloitte, its Legal Partner is Prokopenko, Chuyko and Partners, and its Analytical Partner is AGRO Perspectiva. More detailed information can be found on the organizers' web page www.ch.kiev.ua or by phone: +38 (044) 541-18-38
