The lack of medicines and free health care increases the mortality tenfold, and the health care sphere is a redistribution of financial flows, Head of the Socialist Party of Ukraine (SPU) Illia Kyva, said, the press service of the SPU has reported on its official website.

"Today, the majority of the population of Ukraine is elderly people who require the attention of doctors. However, we do not have medicines, free health care. People are afraid of getting sick, because any disease that could have been cured in the hospital before, today is becoming a sentence and there is a risk of losing your life. Not to mention oncological diseases," he said on the Newsone television channel.

The politician said that the Ukrainians do not have enough funds for treatment, since medicine prices are "frightening."

In his opinion, the attempts made to overcome corruption in health care to this day have been unsuccessful, since it is not beneficial for the officials of the highest echelons, and while they are dividing the money, Ukrainians are dying.

"Probably the current acting Minister of Health tried to defeat the old system, eradicate corruption schemes, fight the pharmacological mafia, but, unfortunately, no one has yet managed to defeat the government. They will continue to act as it is convenient for their pockets," he said.
