A team from Poltava that won the final of the Street Football Championship " Million for the Stadium", which was held on October 21 in Kyiv, received UAH 1 million for the construction of a new stadium, President of the Ukrainian National Federation of Street Football and Head of the Socialist Party of Ukraine (SPU) Illia Kyva said, the press service of SPU has reported on its official website.

"Every day, many of us see ordinary boys, who are chasing a ball in the streets, from our windows. We have decided to support the guys in their passion, to give them a holiday and additional motivation for a healthy lifestyle. So six months ago we started this tournament, announced the main prize – UAH 1 million for the construction of a football field in own city or town and held street football tournaments in each region. And today, on this field the winners met to identify the best. UAH 1 million is your prize for the thirst for victory, determination and well-coordinated team play," he said.

National teams from families with many children and low-income families, internally displaced persons from the ATO zone, children in difficult circumstances born in 2006-2008 were allowed to participate in the Championship. A team from Poltava region received the main prize of UAH 1 million, taking first place. Also in July, Poltava residents will go to the Street Football Championship in Europe, where they will play with the children's team of the Italian League. Teams from Kherson and Kyiv regions took the second and third place respectively. The winners received cups and medals, and all participants were awarded memorable prizes: diplomas and nets with balls.

"This is a real holiday, and a holiday not only for football, a holiday of communication. It is communication that changes lives, both adults and children. I am very happy for the team from Poltava. And I am sure that not one generation of the future members of the Ukrainian national team will grow on their new football field! After all, football brings us the zeal for victory, strength and discipline. And I will say to the officials: here is an example of how to spend money. Such prizes and tournaments should be given and held regularly. I will appeal to the regional leaders to support our initiative," Kyva said.

The organizer of the Championship was the Ukrainian National Federation of Street Football. The Championship took page with the participation of the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) with support of the Youth and Sports Ministry and under the patronage of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine. The sponsor is Oleksandr Zhurba.

As reported, the first match of the "Million for the Stadium" Championship took place on April 13 in Poltava.
