The American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine is deeply concerned by the current supply disruption of liquid chlorine and hydrochloric acid

Kyiv, July 12, 2018 Liquid chlorine is used for cleaning and sanification of potable and wastewater. Dniproazot, the producer of liquid chlorine has recently stopped all deliveries. Members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine are deeply concerned by the current disruption of liquid chlorine and hydrochloric acid supplies and its potential impact on Ukraine's water supply system, the Ukrainian economy, and the Ukrainian people. In addition, each day of downtime for enterprises producing beverages is a huge budget loss from taxes and a negative signal for investors.

The example of the just one company: one week of downtime leads to the lack of state taxes of UAH 90 million (value-added tax, corporate income tax, excise). The Chamber hopes that the relevant parties will find a way forward in the short term in order to prevent restrictions on water supply as well as stoppage of production by a number of companies operating in Ukraine in the coming days.
