Yuzhne will host October 15-16 regional competitiveness forum

Yuzhne, Odesa region – On, 2009, USAID-funded project “Local Investment and National Competitiveness” (LINC) will organize the Regional Competitiveness Forum. The Forum venue is Ellada hotel conference room, 2 Peremohy Sq., Yuzhne; beginning at 10:00 a.m.

The goal of the event is to assemble active citizens, Ukrainian and international experts, representatives of authorities and businesses, and scientists to discuss hot issues of strengthening regional competitiveness.

Participation is open to all interested in local development. The Forum participants will have a unique opportunity not only to communicate with their colleagues but also directly communicate with competitiveness practitioners.

Speakers at the Forum will include Ukrainian and foreign experts from LINC, East Europe Foundation, International Institute for Food Safety and Quality, U.S. Civilian Research & Development Foundation, and Kyiv Economics Institute.

The purpose of the USAID-funded LINC Project is to assist progressive communities and regions to bring about significant growth in investment and job creation by working with local industries and local and regional governments to attract investment; increase territorial competitiveness by improving business infrastructure and practices and strengthening the relationship between scientific innovation and business; streamline regulatory regimes to make investment faster and easier; and help businesses improve quality standards and export capabilities. The Project will also work at the national level on regulations and legislation involving competitiveness, trade and investment issues.
