The opening celebration for the second complex of the Radisson Resort& SPA, Alushta hotel was held in Alushta on May 21, 2013
May 21, 2013. The opening celebration for the second complex of the Radisson Resort&SPA, Alushta hotel was held in Alushta. This complex will certainly become known as the face of the renewed Alushta and as the pearl of the entire Southern Coast of Crimea.
Among the participants of the opening ceremony were: Crimean Resorts and Tourism Minister Oleksandr Liyev, Alushta Mayor Stanislav Kolot, Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Legislation Activity and Organizing the Work of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea Kostiantyn Bakharev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of IFD Capital Ukraine, Ltd. Leonid Fedun, President of IFD Capital Ukraine, Ltd. Oleksiy Fedun, Senior Director for Business Development of Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group Darren Blanchard, Chief Manager of the Radisson Resort& SPA, Alushta Hotel Yuksel Fikret, representatives of the city administration and representatives of investors.
As Oleksandr Liyev pointed out, the opening of a hotel working all the year round will help attract more international tourists to Crimea. This is a good example for the entire resort infrastructure of Ukraine and Crimea: it sets standards of customer service and personnel training. The minister thanked the investors for introducing the international standards of hotel industry to Crimea and assured them of the support that will be given by the government of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. "We welcome the investors who come to Crimea and we will do all we can to make them feel their high priority," he said.
According to Leonid Fedun, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of IFD Capital Ukraine, this is one of the largest investments into the hotel industry of Crimea for the last few years. The Group spent over UAH 500 million. "We are not going to stop here; we will move on as we receive the necessary legislation support. An international level hotel here will bring Alushta closer to other resort destinations of the world. This is the international standard of the hotel business," Leonid Fedun said.
On behalf of Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, Darren Blanchard congratulated the investors, builders, contractors with the successful completion of the project. He mentioned that due to financial difficulties throughout the world such objects are rarely finished on time. But, in spite of all the obstacles, IFD Capital was able to finish construction on time. "What is offered here is a unique, fantastic product. This product will bring not only Crimea, but all Ukraine to the level of the world's leading resorts," said Darren Blanchard
The history of this place goes back to 2006 when the investor (IFD Capital Group) renovated an old resort outpatient clinic and opened The Crimean Riviera – the first 4-star hotel in Alushta. In 2008 the investor signed an international agreement with the Rezidor operator which confirmed that the hotel indeed corresponds to the international 4-star level. As the result, the hotel became the first in Crimea member of an international chain of hotels (and still remains the only one).
Russian IFD Capital Group (with its branches in Ukraine) invested into this project. The investment into constructing Radisson Resort&SPA, Alushta exceeded $55 million. The Group was created in 2003 and is now one of the largest diversified holding companies in Russia. By now, the Group has invested into oil and gas industry, finance and banking, construction, chemical industry, mass-media, and high-tech. The Group's main goal is efficient managing of the shareholders' assets by investing into new business projects and by stock market operations. The Group's total assets as of 2011 were $11.2 billion; the total capital – $4.7 billion. By the amount of its profit, IFD Capital Group is among Russia's 100 top companies (according to the ratings by Finance-500 and Expert-400).
The hotel complex is managed by one of the world's leading operators – company Rezidor Hotels & Resorts, which in 2012 merged with Carlson forming the united brand Carlson Rezidor. The Group includes over 420 hotels in 73 countries of the world. As a result of this agreement, the hotel was re-branded and became the first (and the only one) in Crimea hotel of the international level - Radisson Resort&SPA, Alushta.
The new hotel building is not only harmonized with the city skyline and the natural landscape; it also serves as an impressive architectural addition to the hotel's first building, where 63 exquisite rooms are offered to the guests.
The second complex of Radisson Resort&SPA, Alushta is a modern 10-storied building situated next to the city's main sea-front; it has 146 comfortable rooms.
In the new hotel building, there are 54 standard rooms, 68 upgraded rooms, 4 junior suites, 6 senior rooms, 12 upgraded senior suites, 2 presidential suits. There are also: balconies with either sea-view or city-view; air-conditioning; hair-driers; satellite television; mini-bars; free Wi-Fi.
Two restaurants with open-air terraces (total area 240 square meters) offer two different concepts to the hotel guests.
The conference centers of the new Radisson Resort & SPA, Alushta have cutting-edge equipment. The total area of the hotel's conference-center is over 600 square meters. Ten independent groups can work simultaneously in different conference-rooms. The ballroom on the first floor is 260 square meters; 330 guests can be seated there (without tables), or 200 (with tables for a banquet). There are some special features as well: six-meter high ceilings; a stage that can be mounted inside, sound systems and a spacious pre-function area. Something which is rarely available in Ukraine's conference centers: automobiles can be brought into the room for presentations. In the second floor of the hotel there are 4 conference-rooms with 90, 70, 60, and 40 square meters respectively.
The SPA-center in the new building has 2500 square meters and offers to its guests an indoor swimming pool with a Jacuzzi, several types of saunas and baths (Finnish, Russian, hamam), and a modern fitness-center with a sea-view. The hotel has another attraction: open-air swimming pools with a children section, refreshing cocktails at the pool-bar. The hotel also has its own beach with the necessary equipment.
The opening of the second complex of Radisson Resort & SPA, Alushta is an event that certainly transcends the local importance. One can be certain: such venues bring Crimea on the par with other resort areas of the world.
