Russia doesn't publish official lists of prisoners for Jan 24 swap, its propaganda spreads this information – Ukrainian intelligence

Russia does not publish officially, through its relevant authorities, the lists of prisoners of war (POW) who were supposed to be exchanged on January 24, instead Russian propaganda deliberately spreads such information, Spokesperson for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine Andriy Yusov has said.

"First of all, the lists [of POWs for the prisoner swap] were known. Another thing is what lists [we are talking about]. In Ukraine, official information is issued by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War and officials, in particular the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights. What can we see on the side of the aggressor state? Propagandists Simonyan, Shariy and others report and show alleged lists," he said on the national telethon on Thursday.

Yusov highlighted the fact that the information about the lists was issued not by the Defense Ministry of the aggressor state, not relevant agencies, particularly the humanitarian headquarters for POW issues, but propaganda.

When asked whether the Ukrainian lists coincide with those spread by the Russian propaganda, the official said, "The fact is that commenting on the information that was deliberately planted by the Russian propaganda in public means participating in their operation. When such lists are officially published, then, of course, we will give official comments."

As reported, an Il-76 aircraft crashed in the vicinity of Russia's Belgorod on January 24. Russian media reported that Ukrainian POWs could be on board of the plane.
