Yanukovych invites NATO Secretary General to visit Ukraine after parliamentary elections

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has invited NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen to visit Ukraine.

"I would like to invite you to visit Ukraine after the parliamentary elections," the president said at a meeting with Rasmussen in New York on Tuesday, September 25.

Yanukovych also said that he was satisfied with the development of relations between Ukraine and NATO.

"In general we are satisfied with the dynamics of our relations with NATO," the president said.

In turn, Rasmussen thanked Yanukovych for Ukraine's contribution to the Alliance's peacekeeping operations in Kosovo, Africa, and other hot spots.
