Prosecutor General's Office launches dashboard with cases against businesses

The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine has launched a dashboard with analytics on existing criminal cases against businesses and information from the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations.
"The dashboard is a visualized application for the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations system. It compiles and combines data on the statistics of investigations and court cases related to businesses in a format convenient for analysis and perception. We hope to gradually extend it to other types of criminal offenses," said Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin at the dashboard's presentation on Wednesday.
According to him, the dashboard consists of analytical modules regarding the number of criminal offenses related to economic or investment activities within certain qualifications; the number of persons notified of suspicion in committing criminal offenses of this category and those to whom detention has been applied; the amount of material damage to the state/territorial community and its compensation; data on the number of decisions made to refer cases to court, and other data on the state of pretrial investigation of criminal offenses.
As explained by Artem Borodatiuk, co-founder of Netpeak LLC, a beta version of the dashboard has been launched so far. The next software update is expected in three months, while the data in the dashboard will be updated monthly.
Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov added that in the coming months, developers will study the dashboard's performance and collect user feedback for its improvement.
He also said that the dashboard will enable the Prosecutor General's Office to monitor anomalies in pretrial investigations, prevent abuses, and allow journalists and the public to control and conduct their own investigations, and businesses to feel more protected.
"I am glad that the discussion about the pressure of controlling authorities on businesses will finally be translated into the realm of numbers and data, rather than social media messages," commented the Head of the President's Office of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, on the tool's launch on his Telegram channel.
The project was implemented by the Prosecutor General's Office with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation and in cooperation with the Council for Business Support under the President of Ukraine in wartime conditions.
As reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy enacted a decision of the National Security and Defense Council on ensuring economic security on January 23, 2024. Under the document, the Prosecutor General's Office, together with the Ministries of Digital Transformation and Justice, was recommended to develop an analytical module in the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations with the possibility of public access to aggregated data on the activities of law enforcement agencies and a module for submitting online complaints from entrepreneurs.
