Ukrzaliznytsia in talks with Skoda on joint venture creation

State Railways Administration Ukrzaliznytsia is in talks with Skoda (the Czech Republic) on the production of dual-system locomotives in Ukraine according to the technical documents of the Czech company.

"Ukrzaliznytsia has announced its intention and its ability to carry out 40% of the production [of the locomotives] with Ukrainian components," according to an administration press release.

According to the press release, the first batch will consist of 20 locomotives, five of which will be manufactured in the Czech Republic and 15 in Ukraine.
