Koriukivka industrial paper factory's wallpaper output 4.5% up in ten months

OJSC Koriukivka Industrial Paper Factory in Chernihiv region, a major wallpaper producer in Europe and the CIS, in January to October 2008 produced 76.478 million conventional pieces of wallpaper (42.8 million standard rolls), which is 4.5% more year-on-year, a source in the sector has told Interfax-Ukraine.

Over the period under review, production soared by 38.6%, to UAH 534.675 million.

The source said that over the ten months of this year, a total of 155.27 million pieces of wallpaper were produced in Ukraine (87 million standard rolls).

The factory produces many kinds of wallpaper, including washable, duplex, vinyl and acrylic wallpaper. It has over 1,200 designs sold under the Slovianski Shpalery trademark.

Its production capacity is about 60 million rolls a year, which substantially exceeds domestic market demand.

The factory is Europe's largest wallpaper producer, and exports 75% of its produce to Russia, Belarus, Moldova, the Baltic countries, Central Asia, and Eastern and Central Europe.

In 2007, the factory cut wallpaper output by 6.7% compared to 2006, to 83.29 million conventional pieces with a market share of around 50%. The production volume was UAH 451.6 million, a 5.3% rise year-on-year. The company in 2007 saw UAH 26.786 million in net profit, a 23% fall year-on-year.
