Italian govt approves 10th aid package for Ukraine – media
The Italian government on Monday approved the 10th military aid package for Ukraine, the ANSA news agency said.
Referring to sources, the agency said that on Wednesday, Defense Minister Guido Crosetto will present details of the new military aid package to Ukraine at the parliamentary supervisory body over Italian intelligence (Comitato Parlamentare per la Sicurezza della Repubblica, COPASIR). The list of materials that will be sent to Kyiv is confidential, as was the case with previous packages.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on Monday told a conference of ambassadors that "Italy is beside Kyiv in an all-round commitment for a fair peace, which can't be Ukraine's surrender." He stressed that work is ongoing for "a second peace conference with the participation of Russia as well, with partners like China, India and Brazil."
The minister recalled that, during the meeting of Group of Seven foreign ministers in Fiuggi, "we reiterated the centrality of support for Ukraine's energy security and its reconstruction." Tajani went on to note such commitment "sees us on the front line, ahead of the Conference on Reconstruction which we will host in Rome in July."
