FC Metalist vows to investigate in detail grounding for Lausanne court's ruling, says Kurchenko

President of FC Metalist (Kharkiv) Serhiy Kurchenko has promised to investigate in detail the grounds for the recent ruling of the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne and do everything to protect the club's interests.

"We respect the decision of the Court of Lausanne. The case on which the decision was made comes from 2008. It was heard more than three years ago, when the club belonged to another owner. I've been waiting for this decision since the beginning of 2013. The case is complicated, but the timing of its consideration, and, most importantly, the moment the decision itself - during the qualifying round of the Champions League - disappointed us. I think that this decision will not have significant consequences for Metalist in the future. We will investigate in detail its grounding and will do everything to protect our interests," reads Kurchenko's statement on the Web site of the football club posted on Friday.

"Metalist is doing well, the team got into the Champions League and we will strive not to let five-year-old debates prevent the club from moving forward," Kurchenko said.
