FFU president supports Blatter's critical opinion of the CIS league

President of the Football Federation of Ukraine (FFU) Anatoliy Konkov has supported FIFA President Sepp Blatter's critical opinion of the idea of creating a unified CIS league.

"I think that it's generally incorrect to discuss this if the main man in FIFA says that it makes no sense. There's subordination, discipline and order. I think that if the main man says that it's of no value, then it's unnecessary to discuss it," the Fotball TV Channel quoted him as saying on Sunday.

As reported, FIFA President Sepp Blatter said at a press conference in St. Petersburg on January 20 that holding a CIS soccer championship was impossible, and advised Head of the Russian Football Union Nikolai Tolstykh to do everything to preserve the Russian championship.

The CIS championship is a wrong decision, and it can destroy the FIFA pyramid and cause enormous damage to the solidarity inside the family, Blatter said. He also added that he wanted to advise Tolstykh to be an advocate of his own championship, and forget about all other leagues.
