Ukrainian businessman Pavel Fuks won in the USA a lawsuit against lobbyist Yuri Vanetik - press service of the businessman

In 2019, Ukrainian businessman Pavel Fuks in California, USA, filed a lawsuit against an American lobbyist Yuri Vanetik, a native of the USSR.

Fuks accused Vanetik of fraud after paying him $200,000 for tickets to Donald Trump Presidential inauguration in 2017.

In his lawsuit, Fuks claimed that Vanetik did not provide the promised tickets, and Fuks had to watch the inauguration ceremony on TV in a hotel bar in Washington, D.C. Vanetik did not satisfy Fuks's request to return the money.

California federal court judge Fernando Aenlle-Rocha found compelling evidence provided by Fuks to the court, which included WhatsApp messages and emails.

The court found Vanetik's arguments unconvincing and not credible. It also held Vanetik liable for fraud with debt obligations.

 On July 19, 2022, the judge issued a decision in which he ordered Vanetik to return $200,000 to Fuks and also interest.

Fuks commented on the court decision in his Telegram channel and announced some details:

After examining and evaluating the evidence, including the testimony of witnesses, the court held that:

the defendant provided false information;

the defendant violated the terms of the contract by not fulfilling the obligations under the contract;

the defendant's violation caused damage to the claimant.

The defendant deliberately refused to return the money after the claimant asked him to do so.

He also provided some information from the court decision.

While the trial lasted, an information campaign was carried out against me to discredit me — they spread fakes against me, misinformed journalists. But this did not prevent the court from figuring out where the truth is, Fuks wrote.

He called the decision of the American court an example of how democracy and an honest law enforcement system work.
