Kyiv, October 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The early elections to the parliament are unlikely to happen before the end of January, according to Ihor Zhdanov, the president of the Open Policy Analytical Center.

"It is clear today there will be no elections on December 7, nor on December 14, nor on December 21…As for the strategic forecast, the elections can take place either late in January or early in February," he said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Friday.

He said there would be no new government before April 2009.

"In other words, the elections will prolong the [political] crisis for at least six months. This won't facilitate the normal work of any body of government," he said.
