Kyiv, November 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Opposition parties will try to disrupt the Ukraine-EU summit in Kyiv on December 19, Regions Party MP Valeriy Konovaliuk has said.

"Their destructive activity concerns the disruption of the next Ukraine-EU summit, which will be held on December 19, on St. Nicholas Day... [Opposition members] are trying in any way [they can] to destructively ensure that these talks fail," he said at a press conference at the Interfax-Ukraine news agency in Kyiv on Friday.

Konovaliuk said that attempts to disrupt the summit that are being made by the opposition were a part of the campaign to disrupt stability ahead of parliamentary elections.

He also said that he possessed information that supporters of the opposition, under the guise of Regions Party activists, during the Ukraine-EU summit, intended to picket the building of the European Commission's office in Kyiv in order to declare that the Regions Party opposes Ukraine's European integration.
