Kyiv-based FreeStyle enters Sport Life fitness club chain and will open under new name on July 1
Kyiv, June 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Sport Life Group, which manages the eponymous chain of fitness clubs in Russia and Ukraine, has agreed with the Ukrainian FreeStyle chain of fitness clubs that its club at 42, Krasnotkatska Street will join the Sport Life chain, Sport Life founder Dmitry Ekimov has said.
"FreeStyle has two clubs: one is a boxing club, which matches our format, and the second one is small. We decided not to take this club. We signed an agreement to rent the club for 15 years," he said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday.
Ekimov said that the boxing profile of this fitness club with an area of 4,500 square meters would remain unchanged and the refurbished club would open under the Sport Life brand on July 1, 2011.
"We will close the club for refurbishing for one month. We will expand the area of the locker rooms, and the number of showers. All the rest will remain as it is, all of the activities planned by FreeStyle will remain unchanged," he added.
Ekimov also said FreeStyle would sell tickets for the club jointly with Sport Life.
