LAZ expects to supply two trolleybuses to Bulgaria by September
Kyiv, April 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Lviv Bus Plant (LAZ) expects to supply two trolleybuses to the town of StaraZagora in Bulgaria by September 2011.
"Under the present contract, StaraZagora has the right to buy another two trolleybuses. We're agreeing the terms. We'll supply the vehicles by September," the director general of City Transport Group Ltd., a managing company of LAZ, Oleksandr Lobko, said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday.
He did not disclose the price of trolleybuses, adding that the ceiling price of a 12-meter trolleybus is around EUR 500,000.
He added that StaraZagora plans to hold a tender to buy another 14 trolleybuses in the autumn of 2011.
"StaraZagora knows our vehicles and they would like to see us win [the tender]," Lobko said.
He said that LAZ is in talks with another five Bulgarian towns that are interested in upgrading their trolleybus fleet.
"After obtaining supplies of our trolleybuses, towns that have trolleybus routes have shown a great deal of interest in our trolleybuses," he said.
As reported, in 2009 LAZ supplied six trolleybuses to Stara Zagora.
In March 2011 the company shipped 27 buses to the Macedonian capital Skopje.
