Kyiv, April 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A bill on civil service drafted by the Ukrainian Justice Ministry for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada contains a provision on a retirement age of 65 years for women and men, Justice Minister Oleksandr Lavrynovych has said.

"Civil servants can retire at the age of 65. I mean everyone - men and women," he said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine in Kyiv on Monday.

Lavrynovych also noted that the draft law envisages the job classification of employees into groups and subgroups instead of the current categories. As an innovation, it is proposed to divide civil servants into five groups (A-E), and each of them - into four subgroups.

The document also foresees a procedure for estimating the performance of civil servants, replacing the existing appraisal and annual assessment of the performance of their duties and tasks.

Among other innovations are new approaches to wage payments in the form of increasing salaries at the expense of the optimization of related incentive payments.

In addition, the draft law proposes giving state employees the right to receive compensation at 50% of the rate of housing loans.

The bill was determined by the head of state to be urgent for consideration by parliament.

As reported, Ukraine is considering raising the retirement age for women from the current 55 years to 60 years, in order to equalize their retirement age with that of men.
