Kyiv, January 23 (Interfax-Ukraine) – A Ukrainian expert has said he is skeptical about the possibility of holding early parliamentary elections.

The president of the Open Policy analytical center, Ihor Zhdanov, said that Ukrainian politicians are not interested in holding snap elections to the parliament in connection given that the presidential campaign is fast approaching.

"I am skeptical about the possibility of holding the early parliamentary elections and conducting a presidential impeachment procedure. The political parties are not interested in realizing these scenarios, and, in fact, the presidential election campaign is at hand," he said at a press conference at the Interfax-Ukraine news agency in Kyiv on Friday.

Zhdanov also stressed the need for the Constitutional Court to estimate the question of the date for holding presidential elections so that "these are impeccably legal elections."
