Construction of 80 housing estates frozen in Kyiv region as of June 30, expert says
Kyiv, June 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The construction of 80 housing estates had been frozen in Kyiv region as of June 30, 2010, which is 43.71% of all private houses under construction, the total number of which is 183 in the region, RealExpo (Kyiv) Director Viktor Kovalenko has reported.
"The construction was restarted in six housing estates compared to last year. The largest number of frozen housing estates is in Makarove district (18), Kyiv-Sviatoshyne district ranks second (16), and Brovary district is the third one (11)," Kovalenko said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday.
According to Kovalenko, since the start of 2010 the average price of one square meter in cottages in Kyiv region has fallen by 8.91% and as of June 30 was $1,330. The highest average price per square meter of $1,903 was fixed in Obukhiv district, and the lowest price of $700 in Baryshivka district.
According to Kovalenko, as of June 30, there were 279 housing estates in Kyiv and Kyiv region, in particular, 21 in Kyiv and 258 in the region.
