KYIV. July 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) - A large number of internally displaced persons (IDP) from Donbas and Crimea will be left without social benefits after July 20 because of a failure of the implementation of Cabinet resolution No. 365 dated June 8 that approved a new procedure of assigning social payments for IDPs, according to the Zemliaky (Compatriots) public movement.

"From July 21 hundreds of thousands of displaced persons will not receive social benefits. Such a policy makes people collect things and return to the territory not controlled by Ukraine," coordinator of the organization Gennadiy Borisichev said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine.

He claims the Ministry of Social Policy has not coped with the implementation of this resolution, which provides for the strengthening of checks on the statements of the actual place of residence of IDPs, as well as checking on the living conditions of their families. He noted, according to official data, that currently only 30,000 out of 1.7 million people have been verified.

Borisichev also noted that social protection services staff cannot cope with the duties under resolution No. 365, which provided for checking the huge number of displaced persons within a 30-day period.
