Ukrtelecom expecting 1.2% fall in revenues in 2010
Kyiv, March 25 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The total income of OJSC Ukrtelecom in 2010 could fall by 1.2% compared to 2009, to UAH 7.964 billion, Ukrtelecom Board Chairman Heorhiy Dzekon said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.
The company is expecting an 18.4% fall in revenues from international and intercity telecommunications services, to UAH 2.87 billion. Along with this, Ukrtelecom expects its revenues from fixed Internet access to grow by 39%, to UAH 1.517 billion, and from local telecommunications by 0.3%, to UAH 3.092 billion.
Ukrtelecom Deputy Board Chairman Ihor Kravets told journalists that Ukrtelecom is expecting a significant increase in the number of its subscribers in 2010.
"We plan to reach an indicator of 834,000 mobile communications subscribers by the end of 2010 (growth by 2.2-times) and 1.263 million subscribers for fixed Internet access (a 50% increase)," he said.
