Poll: Seven parties, blocs could win seats in parliament if early elections held
Kyiv, November 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – If early parliamentary elections were to be held, the Regions Party, the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko, the Front for Change, the Bloc of Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Bloc of Left and Center-Left Forces, the Svoboda Association, and Our Ukraine would win seats in the Verkhovna Rada, according to a survey carried out by the Ukrainian Sociological Service October 23 through November 1.
Director General of the Ukrainian Sociological Service and Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Professor Mykola Mykhalchenko presented the results of the survey at a press conference at the Interfax-Ukraine news agency on Wednesday.
Some 27.6% of the poll respondents said that they would have voted for the Regions Party (leader Viktor Yanukovych), 21.4% for the Bloc of Yulia Tymoshenko, 9.7% for the Front for Change public initiative (leader Arseniy Yatseniuk), 5.3% for the Bloc of Lytvyn, 4.4% for the Bloc of Left and Center-Left Forces, 4.2% for the Svoboda Association (leader Oleh Tiahnybok), and 3.8% for Our Ukraine (leader Vira Ulyanchenko).
At the same time, 14.2% of those polled said that they "trust nobody."
A total of 2,477 respondents from 16 Ukrainian regions participated in the survey. The poll's margin of error is up to 2%.
