Kyiv, October 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) –The appointment of Petro Poroshenko Ukrainian Foreign Minister is the most optimal and compromise, according to politicians.

"To my opinion, this is a rather successful decision," the president of the Open Policy Analytical Center Ihor Zhdanov said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine.

He said that Poroshenko has basic diplomatic education and worked as the head of the National Security and Defense Council and was engaged not only in problems of inner, but also foreign security.

"The appointment of the foreign minister is a momentous event. He is hailed in Russia and Europe. One should give proper respect to Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko, who proposed a really compromise candidate, who suits both coalition and the president," the politician said.

GMT Group Director Anatoliy Lutsenko said that the appointment for Poroshenko is a good way to return to power. However, it was not a good time for his return, as the election campaign is actually started in Ukraine, and the present cabinet and coalition do not have clear prospects, he said.

The politician also said that Poroshenko is an outstanding economist of practice.

"I think that the Ukrainian foreign policy should transfer to the foreign policy as an instrument of promotion of Ukraine's economic interests to international markets, and in this case the appointment of Poroshenko is optimal," Lutsenko said.
