Kyiv, September 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) - More than a third (38%) of Ukrainian citizens believe they are lucky to live in Ukraine, according to a survey conducted by Research & Branding Group.

While presenting the results of the survey on Thursday in the press center of the Interfax-Ukraine news agency, R&B Group sociologist Yevhen Kopatko noted that the opposite view is held by 31% of those polled.

"In general, 38% think they are lucky [to live in Ukraine], and 31% think they are unlucky. A neutral point of view is held by 31%... Some 42% in Ukraine's west and 34% in the east think they are lucky. At the same time, 25% in the west, 38% in the south and 37% in the east think they are rather unlucky to live in Ukraine," Kopatko said.

In his opinion, a quarter of respondents who consider themselves lucky to live in Ukraine explained this by the fact that the issue concerns their homeland.

"In second place is the statement that 'people in Ukraine are good, hard-working and generous,' such a view is supported by 12% of our respondents. And then the figures are lower - about 7-8% think the issue concerns their family, a beautiful nature, climate, and land," he said.

The study was conducted in all regions in Ukraine on August 20-31. A total of 2,079 people were interviewed. The average margin of error is 2.2%.
