Crimea again to be Ukraine's hub of major events in September, says Crimean tourist minister

Kyiv, August 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Resorts and Tourism Minister of Crimea Oleksandr Liyev has said that the Crimean peninsula will again host the major events for Ukraine this autumn.

"Over 100 various festivals are held on the peninsula annually. The ministry succeeded to concentrate over 70 events in May-June and September-October this year. Just over 30 festivals will be held in Crimea in September," he said during the press conference hosted by Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday.

He said that from September 9 until September 11 the International Festival of Street Theatres would be held in Koktebel. The most awaited Crimean festivals of this autumn are Live in Blue Bay (on September 4-8), VI International Theatre Art Festival "Theatre. Chekhov. Yalta" (on September 11-17), the XI International Music Fest "Jazz Koktebel" (on September 12-15), WineFeoFest (on September 13-15), the "Days of Golitsyn" festival (on September 19-21), the XVII International Aeronautics Festival "Air Brotherhood 2013" (September 28 – October 2), extreme competitions and others.

Liyev added that Rally Fest President Cup would take place in Yalta from September 13 until September 15.

"The organizers promise a new format for the competitions. This year the event will be accompanied by a large-scale concert program. Popular variety artists will perform on Yalta quay, among whom are Tina Karol, Grigoriy Leps, Boris Moiseev, A-Studio music band, etc. The guests of the city will also watch an auction show of expensive automobiles," he said.

The minister expressed a hope that international society would draw attention to the celebration of the 400th anniversary of House of Romanovy. In the context of this event from September 19 to September 23, Head of the Russian Imperial House, Her Imperial Highness the Grand Duchess Maria Wladimirovna and her son, His Imperial Highness and heir to the throne, the Grand Duke Georgii Mihailovich, as well as the representatives of European royal houses (the king and queen of Greece, the king of Romania, the king of Bulgaria, etc.) A number of festive events, including a ball in Livadia Palace, were scheduled for high-ranking guests.
