Kyiv, July 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Experts have predicted the growing interest of Ukrainian citizens in the electoral process and a high turnout of voters during presidential elections in 2015.

"Since the stakes during this presidential campaign (in 2015) will be extremely high, and this, in fact, means preserving the current course and the president's team not only for the next term, but, perhaps, for the next 10-15 years, it's clear that the nervousness of these elections will be extremely high and that the fight is to be extremely hard, and I still predict that the turnout will be extremely high," a political strategist and director of Berta Communications, Taras Berezovets, said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Friday.

He said he expected the turnout during the presidential elections to be over 70%. Berezovets recalled that the turnout was extremely low during repeated elections of deputies to city councils, the heads of villages, towns and cities and by-elections of local council deputies on June 2.

Berezovets also noted a direct dependence of a low voter turnout in elections on the victory of government candidates.

"A direct dependence was recorded – if the turnout is low, the administrative resources are used, and a government representative wins. The higher the turnout, the better the chances of opposition candidates' winning [the elections]," Berezovets said.
