At least 60% of Shell staff for development of Yuzovska field to be Ukrainian
Kyiv, April 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Shell's staff for the development of the Yuzovska deposit (Kharkiv and Donetsk regions) will be at least 60% Ukrainian, company manager for government relations Oleksiy Tatarenko said at a panel discussion at Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday.
"According to the agreements signed on Yuzovska field, at least 60% of the staff will be Ukrainians. Under the agreement on joint activities with Ukrgazvydobuvannia, such commitments are not stipulated in the document, but we have a policy on the maximum involvement of local staff - we will stick to it," he said.
Tatarenko also reported the company has achieved first success in talks with Ukrainian pipe producers.
"It's about bringing produce to the requirements of Shell. If Ukrainian producers are qualified as the suppliers of the company, they will be able to deliver their products not only within the development of Yuzovska area, but also for other projects [of Shell] throughout the world," he said.
As reported, the production sharing agreement between Shell and Nadra Yuzovska regarding unconventional gas production on Yuzovska area was signed on January 24, 2013. The first 15 exploratory wells on the field are to be drilled in the next five years.
