Kyiv, February 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The Sport Life group of companies, which manages Sport Life fitness clubs in Russia and Ukraine, plans in the second quarter of 2013 to open the first phase of the club at 71, Sverdlova Street in Luhansk, while the second phase will be opened at the end of the second or early third quarter, Sport Life Vice President for regional project development, Vitaliy Levytsky, has said.

"Today there is a delay, for objective reasons, in the terms for commissioning the club. It is linked to the untimely completion of construction. Everything that depends on Sport Life – the operation of the club – is being fulfilled. The club is divided into two sections. The existing public catering premises of the drive shaft plant in Luhansk, on the basis of which the fitness club is being built. The dry section will be commissioned in the second quarter… these are workout rooms, halls for groups, locker rooms, shower rooms, water closets, offices, reception, a cloakroom and a doctor room," Levytsky said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine on Friday.

He said that the second section of the club would be an aqua-zone with two swimming pools (for adults and children) and a SPA zone.

The area of the fitness club in Luhansk, which was to be opened in December 2012, amounts to 4,000 square meters.

Levytsky said that due to the non-observation of the commissioning terms, the company has to increase expenses on advertising and have the additional financial burden in paying wages to employees who work in the sales department in Luhansk. In addition, the company bought a large number of equipment units and has to store them in a warehouse.

"Presales in Luhansk… were started in line with the construction work schedule. A new general contractor was found several weeks ago, and taking into account the agreements, the lessor declared the terms for commissioning of the project in the middle of the second quarter," he added.

Sport Life Regional Director for work with clients Andriy Trushevsky, in turn, said that for clients who bought club season tickets with a discount, will have a bonus of 25% of visits of the one-year club card and a program of bonuses will be presented. The program is being drawn up.

Today the Sport Life chain unites 21 clubs in Ukraine, including eight clubs operating in regional centers. In March the second club will be opened in Lviv, and in early 2014 the third club in the city will be opened. Sport Life is the leaser of all fitness clubs.

Levytsky told Interfax-Ukraine that in 2013 clubs in Kremenchuk and Zhytomyr will be opened.

Sport Life manages a chain of fitness clubs, health food restaurants and sushi bars, sports clothes and equipment stores, and tanning salons. The group also imports the Hammer Strength, Precor, TechnoGym, BodyCraft and StrongMan sports equipment brands to the CIS countries.

The first Sport Life fitness club opened in Kyiv in March 2007.
