Kyiv, July 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The exact date of a possible early session of the Verkhovna Rada has not been decided yet, but MPs plan to assemble at the end of July or beginning of August, leader of the Communist Party faction Petro Symonenko said.

"There were only initial talks, [and] it's possible to assemble for an early session only after we hold [party] congresses. In fact, all parties will hold congresses, since an election campaign is starting. We'll hold a congress on July 30… Whether it will be before July 30 or after July 30, I can't say yet," Symonenko said at the press conference hosted by Interfax-Ukraine on Monday.

Asked whether the Communist Party faction will put forward first Deputy Chairman Adam Martyniuk as a candidate for Verkhovna Rada chairman in the case of the resignation of Volodymyr Lytvyn, the communist leader said that the given issue hasn't been discussed yet, since Lytvyn hasn't yet been dismissed.

"We'll consider the candidate only when it is decided whether Lytvyn is staying or leaving," he added.

Earlier, Regions Party faction leader Oleksandr Yefremov proposed that an early session of the Verkhovna Rada be held on July 31.
