Kyiv, April 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Crimean Developer Company LLC (Simferopol, Crimea) is planning to start building a second phase of the Meganom shopping and leisure center located at 8, Yevpatoriyske Shose in Simferopol, which is being designed now, in summer 2012.
"The first phase was opened on April 7 – the Fozzy hypermarket was opened. The construction of the second phase is scheduled for summer 2012, and the project is being designed. We'll present a leisure zone, modern stores and boutiques in the second phase," Director of Crimean Developer Company Mykola Filipov said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine.
Yevhenia Loktionova, the director of the Ukrainian Trade Guild (UTG) consulting company, which acts as an exclusive agent for leasing of space in the trade center, said the gross leasing area of the center will be 55,000 square meters, including 20,000 square meters of gross leasing area of the first phase and 35,000 square meters of the second phase.
"In a year we're planning to realize the second phase. It will include a nine-hall movie theatre, a skating rink with gross area of 1,300 square meters, a children entertainment center with gross area of some 2,000 square meters, large interesting international clothes stores, which are not present today on the peninsula," she said.
Loktionova also expressed hope that in December 2012 the results of the construction of the second phase will be seen, and its opening will be announced for 2013. The second phase might be divided into two stages to accelerate the terms of construction.
In turn, a marketing advisor at Ukrainian Development Partners (UDP, Kyiv), the investor into the project, Darya Kukharenko, said that the amount of investment in the first phase of the trade center, which was built in less than six months, exceeded $10 million. Earlier it was reported that investment in the whole trade center would reach UAH 300 million.
Kukharenko said that the trade center chain could be created in Crimea under the Meganom brand.
Filipov also said that the buyback period of the first phase is less than four years.
"Taking into account the fact that we've already started building the second phase, and at the end of this year or maybe in autumn 2012 its construction will be completed, the total buyback period for the two phases will be up to seven years," he said.
As reported, the Kyiv-based Fozzy Group on April 7, 2012 opened its fist Fozzy wholesale and retail hypermarket in Crimea, with gross area of 9,000 square meters, in the Meganom shopping and leisure center in Simferopol.
