Groysman to open plenary day of YES forum on Sat

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman on Saturday, September 16, will open the second plenary day of the 14th annual meeting of the Yalta European Strategy (YES).

The premier will deliver a speech on the progress of the reforms in Ukraine and the role of the European Union in this process, the YES press service reported.

Discussions of the second day will be devoted to the positions of European countries in relation to Ukraine; the relationship between Russia and the world; existing realistic opportunities for ensuring security in Ukraine; as well as strategies for the return of Donbas and Crimea under the control of Ukraine. A separate session with the participation of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko will deal with issues of the rule of law.

The participants in the Yalta European Strategy meeting in Kyiv include Special Representative of the U.S. State Department on Ukraine Kurt Volker; the second President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma; Alan Duncan, Secretary of State for European and American Affairs at the British Foreign Office; Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin; ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk; Chairman of the Munich Conference on Security Wolfgang Ischinger; NATO Secretary General (2009-2014) and YES Board Member Anders Fogh Rasmussen; Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov and others.
